This project responds in strong manner to the demands of a prominent site at the entry to Auckland's CBD. The simple triangular facade form wraps the volume to create internally dramatic spaces while opening out towards the city. The building is designed with Environmentally Sustainable Design (ESD) principles at the core of every decision and is reflected in targeting NZ Green Building Council's Greenstar NZ 5 star rating for Office Design as a minimum.
One Fanshawe Street is leading the way within New Zealand for the new generation of socially responsible developments that place the occupant environment at the centre of the design. This internal focus has not been done in isolation, we have consciously balanced the internal spaces with urban design issues.
This building is a step up in quality and innovation in addition to the commitment to the green initiatives within the New Zealand market. It has an internal spatial quality that is light and airy, an external fabric that texturally enriches the city and a sophisticated considered response to the surrounding environment. The building integrates the requirement to fit within a scale on the site with the response to the environmental considerations. The result is a finely tuned and engineered building that has been crafted to excel in design and performance.
