The Allied Book of Concrete

This publication was produced by Allied because they are, on a daily basis, having to deal with a lack of understanding of their products by the construction industry.  The problems that they are facing are brought about by a lack of education within the construction industry and the current training available through traditional providers is missing the people who are using their product on a day to day basis.  A decision was made to produce this book after having seen a similar publication that was used in Australia some years ago.

It has been written in simple language and produced in materials which will enable it to withstand the rigours of site use and still be readable.  They also decided to keep any commercial emphasis secondary to the technical content.

Allied have to deal with a regular stream of customer requests associated with the performance of their concrete.  The requests are usually associated with post-delivery performance issues which are largely brought about by customer unfamiliarity with the product.  While the material in the ABC is not unique, it is unusual to find a publication where explanations and solutions to all of the common "problems" are contained in one easy to read book.

The aim of the publication was to present all of this information in a logical sequence, from "what is cement and concrete" through to the final section on managing customer expectations.
